Proposed Research Topic:
The purpose of researching about the idents is so that when we make our own ident is that it fits the corporate identity theory. It will also give an idea of what types of colour to use and what types of images to base the ident around. We will also find out the target audience and base the ident around to fit the target audience (16-35).
Purposes:
The purpose of the channel ident is so that people will be able to identify from the ident what channel it relates too. The ident should be effective so that it encourages the target audience to watch that channel and to grab their attention. We need to know the target audience and what colours refer to bbc three. We are also going to make a survey to a variety of people to give us an idea of what we’re going to do and use in our ident.
Background
The channel identity of BBC three known to be the comedy of the BBC channels. The target audience is for 16-34 year olds, which is a relatively young target audience. BBC three uses pink and purple colours because they’re bright and stand out and also make the mood more fun and playful.
Scope:
We will make a survey to try and find out what sort of people watch BBC three and to find out what they think would suit the ident best to give us idea. In our survey we will have questions to find a bit about the audience that watch BBC three and take in to account everyone’s opinions.
Method:
Firstly, I’m going to go on survey monkey and print off 20 surveys to hand out to a variety of people to get their opinions on what colours and what would suit my ident. We will also interview 10 different people from different generations and different genders to get more information e.g teachers.
Limitations:
One of the main things that are holding us back is that we go to an all boys school so it is harder for us to interview people above the age of 18. This will hold us back because it restricts the amount of information I can get. So we will hand out to as many people with a different age and gender as possible.
